Living a healthy life doesn't need to be complicated !
When l decided to embark on a healthy lifestyle l was surprised at the abundance of information and didn’t know where to start. All l wanted to do was lead my family in a healthier lifestyle but it felt like a maze. Honestly it can be quite overwhelming figuring out where to start and what to follow. As I have been there myself l am sharing with you 5 steps to a healthier lifestyle to help you get started too.
If l was starting today this is what l would do.
1. Drink more water – You have heard it before but when I implemented this simple change l was amazed at the result, not only benefits for my body but my skin as well. I will be posting about the ways to make water taster look out for that post.
2. Eat more fruits and vegetables – Fruitsand Vegetables are packed with nutrients and vitamins and help fill us up without the extra calories. I always try and fill half my plate with vegetables.
3. Plan your meals – Planning my meals for the week ahead and making a list before l go shopping not only helps me stay on track but helps me save money on my shop. I find when l omit this step I end up making bad choices.
4. Get Active – I have always struggled with this one but having joined a small boutique style gym this year l have found myself falling in love with the process. It doesn’t matter what you do, the aim is to move and break a sweat at least 3 times a week.
5. Don’t take life too seriously- This journey has its own struggles as you try undo years of bad choices and replace them with new ones. If you can find a reason to laugh every day, even at your slip ups you'll find that your mood will improve, and the whole process won't seem so daunting.
This list isn’t exhaustive but l hope it’s a great starting point, remember Rome wasn’t built in a day and likewise leading a heathy lifestyle will take time and we have to be kind to ourselves. We might fall but don’t give up pick yourself up and carry on it’s a journey.
