Ideas to spark your Goal Setting!

I came across this quote and fell in love. It's essentially talking about knowing your destination before you even embark on your journey.

As we are in the first month of 2021, it is good to reflect on the year that’s gone past and learn from it. However, it is more important to take time out and plan the present year. The year 2020 was tough and it’s tempting to have a "What’s the point of life" attitude. Trust me, you have every reason to be hopeful. Be bold and plan even in the middle of a storm. It’s only the second week of the year so it’s not too late. You don't want to just be a feather in the wind just blowing to and fro. Its important you have a plan and when winds are not favourable life give you lemons pivot and remain focused.

Begin by thinking about what goals you would like to achieve and make a plan to help you achieve them. These could be in several categories i.e. Professional, Relationship, Spiritual, Financial etc. I like to write my goals down in a journal. For example, you might want to save £1,200 a year. Divide the year into months and then workout how much you need save each month i.e £100 a month. You get the gist.

Take time to review these goals as the year goes on to make sure you are on track.

If goals are not your thing, I got you; perhaps you could try having a word of the year. This is something got introduced to 7 years ago and l have been doing since. You choose a word that you most hope to define you throughout the year. That becomes your theme of the year. You use this word as a filter for your decisions and your emotions etc. Here are a few ideas.... Grow, Intentional, Transform, Renew, Evolve, Patience. My word for this year is FLOURISH I want to see all areas in my life flourish as a result of me embracing my passions and allowing God to use me WHERE I AM. I hope that helps if you do choose to have a word of the year.

Another way to set your goals is by having a vision board. This is something that l have never done however this year l decided to create one in addition to my ‘word’. I have to say it’s been great having a visual of all the things l would like to achieve. If you are a visual person this is definitely something I would recommend. Just go on interest and type in vision boards. You will not be short of inspiration.

So take the time out to think about where you are now, where you want to be by the end of the year and how you will get there. Have fun while you are at it.

Please share some of your goals are or Word you have chosen for 2021?
