Years ago, when I discovered the One word #365 movement I was drawn to the idea. The concept is you “Choose just one word”. One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live. One word that you can focus on every day, all year long. It will become that one word that you hold every area of your life up against. This year I have had a lot going on and never sat down and thought about my one word resolution. We are now in March but who cares, Its better late than never right?
There are many things in my life I would like to change but it seems whenever I try to make a move towards changing I am filled with worry, doubt and insecurities. We all have our own fears and insecurities, some of them more deeply rooted than others. I have plenty of my own that have way over stayed their welcome!
I have been asking myself the question. What would you do if you knew you could not fail? The word that came to mind as I thought of overcoming these obstacles is “FEARLESS”. This year I want to live my life differently. I want to take more risks and to be a braver person. I want to be more fearless. I have decided to not let anything stand in the way of my dreams and ambitions. The word fearless draws me into possibilities as I move out of my comfort zone be it in my personal, professional or spiritual life.
Don’t get me wrong I love my life but I think I can achieve greater if I put my mind to it and block out doubt and fear. I tend not to be afraid when it comes to adrenaline generating activities, last year I marked my 30th birthday but going skydiving. Some would call that fearless. Unfortunately that bravery doesn’t translate to the serious life changing moments and that’s what I would like to change.
The bible has so many occurrences of the words “fear not” with some arguing it appears 365 times, ( not sure how true that is) that’s one for each day of the year. I don’t know about you but I find comfort in knowing God does not want me to be afraid. So as I carry on with this year I pray I may live a life that’s FEARLESS!!
